First Visit? Here's what to expect

Scheduled a new patient exam? We'd like to take this opportunity to let you know exactly what to expect. We will also provide you the forms you will need to fill out. This will make your check-in quicker and easier upon arrival. The initial exam is a comprehensive exam that typically takes about 90 minutes. This allows Dr. Ashland plenty of time to discuss any dental needs, corncerns or questions you may have.

• Spend time getting to know you and to review your medical and dental history
• Take a series of x-rays depending on your dental needs
• Digital Intraoral photographs
• Perform a blood pressure test, TMJ and bite analysis and oral cancer screening
• Complete periodontal charting and assessment
• Cleaning may also be performed at this time
• Develop a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs

It may seem like a lot. But this exam is an important first step to evaluate your dental health and establish a baseline for future visits.

Appointments
We understand our patients' lives are busy too, so we have made requesting an appointment a simple process via our website. If, for any reason you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, or will be delayed, please call us as soon as possible.

Dental Insurances
The Tooth Fixer Family Dental Care will be happy to file your insurance claims for most major dental insurance plans. We are currently an "In-Network" provider for the following major PPO dental insurance plans:

• Cigna Dental

• Delta Dental PPO

• Anthem (Blue Cross Blue Shield)

• Aetna

Dental Insurance can be a tricky game these days. Even if you have the same employer and same insurance company, the coverage rules can change. Procedures once covered can be "downgraded" or even denied, based soley on negotiations between the insurance company and your employer's HR department. Our Front Desk Coordinator will work with you to help get the most accurate estimates possible from your insurance provider. We urge our patients to never allow any insurance company to dictate the treatment they receive. These important decisions are best made between you and your dentist.

The Tooth Fixer In-House Dental Membership
No Insurance? No Problem! Unfortunately, many people who do not have dental insurance don't go to the dentist until something hurts. This can often be too late. It can lead to more extensive and expensive treatment or worse, loosing a tooth. The Tooth Fixer In-House Dental Membership is specifically designed for our patients who do not have dental insurance, but still want to maintain optimum dental health at a reasonable cost. Payment Options
The Tooth Fixer Family Dental Care accepts cash, checks, debit and credit cards, including HSA cards.  Payments and/or co-pays are due at time of service unless other arrangements have been arranged in advance.
